Welcome to the City of Eaton Fire and EMS Division.  We proudly serve the City of Eaton and the Townships of  Washington, and Jackson.   Welcome to the City of Eaton Fire and EMS Division web page.

Eaton is the county seat of Preble County located in Southwest Ohio and is the center of activity associated with agriculture and manufacturing.  Eaton is home to several manufacturing companies and is an intersection for several commercial truck routes and an active rail line.  Eaton was founded in 1806 as a village. the Eaton Independent Fire Engine and Hose Company was organized in 1835; the Eaton Emergency Squad was formed in 1972.   

City Council consolidated the management and operation of the Fire and EMS Divisions on September 11, 2006.  The organizational structure consists of a Fire/EMS Chief, three Shift Captains, an EMS lieutenant, four volunteer lieutenants, and many part-time and volunteer personnel. In 2018 we had 2576 requests for service; 1784 were medical emergencies; 792 fire/rescue. That's an average of 7.06 requests a day.

The mission of the City of Eaton Fire & EMS Division is to provide prompt, efficient, skilled response to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies; provide fire prevention, public education, and safety services.  Protecting the lives and  property of our citizens with pride, professionalism and commitment.
